Caleb’s testimony – Addicted in God’s Words

By GT Liu, July 8, 2015

Which one is easier?

  1. Have a child study God’s words 0.5-1 hour a day
  2. Have a child play iPad games for 0.5-1 hour a day

How feasible is Deuteronomy 6 for parents?

Duet6:6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. (ESV)

As we are all very busy today, how could we have that much of time to talk of the bible with our children?

Caleb’s story

Caleb was eight years ago, attending a Christian school. His teacher was surprised by how much he knew of the bible.

Here is the secret: He had been listened to audio bible for 0.5-1 hour a day for two years. He usually listened to the bible when his Dad drove him to school or back home, when he ate snacks and dinner, and when he took a rest, etc. It took him four months to finish the whole Old Testament/

He also enjoyed listening together and discussing the bible with his dad every day. After doing this for almost two years, his English vocabulary and skills also improved significantly. He is now addicted in the bible and needs to listen every day!

He didn’t follow the book order.

Deutoronomy 6 is fulfilled in a natural and easy way

Since Caleb has questions about the bible all the time as he listens through chapters, his dad is able to discuss God’s words with him all the time

The story continues: God began to show Caleb visions about the bible…

 Bible Summary

God showed him the main storyline of bible in a children’s prayer meeting, and he quickly drew these stories in an hour

New Heaven and New Jerusalem

God woke him up at 6:30am one morning and showed him a vision of new heaven and new Jerusalem. He quickly found Revelation 21 and wrote this bible devotional journal.

New Eternal Life

Because of the power of God’s words in his life, he wanted to get baptized without anyone urging him. His dad was not serious about his requests because he was only less than 8 years old. But one day, he showed his dad a drawing of his vision: An old man died in the water, and a new man born from the spirt. His dad was fully convinced.

Baptized before the age of 8

Caleb was baptized in March, 2015, two months before his 8-year-old birthday.

His most favorite Bible book is Revelation!

He listened to it eight times in a month and  considered it the best drama.

At this baptism ceremony, he presented a New Jerusalem model he built.

God continues to show him interesting visions to draw him closer to his words

Recently, he got interested in the genealogy of Jesus Christ, 60 generations from Adam to Jesus, and memorized in a week. Please watch his video below.

My dream

is to see a generation of children to grow up soaked in God’s words, addicted in God’s words instead of ipad/computer games!
